MATT KARCHER
Principal

Mr. Karcher is a finance professional with over thirteen years experience in the merchant and regulated energy
sectors. He has advised on project and corporate level debt and equity transactions with a combined investment
value of one billion dollars. Since founding Deacon Harbor, Mr. Karcher has focused on the renewable and alternative
energy sectors. He has worked with multiple clients on the financing of a wide range of electrical generating projects
utilizing many different technologies, including wind, geothermal, solar and waste-to-energy. He has significant
experience with the potential partnership issues surrounding tax-based investment.  In addition to his project-based
work, Mr. Karcher has provided financial advisory services to many companies in the clean energy sector.

Prior to founding Deacon Harbor Mr. Karcher held finance positions with El Paso Energy, and both the regulated and
deregulated sides of Entergy Corporation. In those positions he was responsible for investment review, negotiating
and structuring transactions, asset management, electrical generation system planning and asset valuation. Mr.
Karcher has an MBA, with distinction, from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University
and a Bachelor of Arts from Muhlenberg College.
